What is Strange Antiquities?

Strange Antiquities is a mystery and puzzle adventure developed by Bad Viking and published by Iceberg Interactive. It is the follow-up to Strange Horticulture, but this time you run a shop dealing in occult artefacts rather than unusual plants.

Set in the gloomy town of Undermere, you become the custodian of a shop filled with mysterious objects. Customers arrive with unusual problems, and it is your job to identify the artefacts they need using reference books, clues and careful investigation. The game combines detective work, puzzles, supernatural mysteries and a little shopkeeping, all presented through a distinctive point-and-click interface. It was released on 17 September 2025.

Key Features

Identify mysterious artefacts

Customers bring you descriptions of strange objects and the problems they are trying to solve. You must examine the available evidence, consult reference books and work out which artefact is appropriate. It is a game of observation and deduction rather than quick reflexes, with your knowledge of the shop’s collection becoming increasingly important.

Investigate the town of Undermere

The shop is only part of the story. Strange events are happening around the town, and your interactions with customers reveal more about its inhabitants and the supernatural forces at work. Individual cases gradually contribute to a larger mystery.

Use books and clues to solve puzzles

The game encourages you to cross-reference information, interpret descriptions and follow leads. Paying attention to small details can be the difference between identifying the correct object and making the wrong choice.

Make decisions with consequences

Your decisions can affect how events unfold, and the game features multiple endings. You are not simply matching objects to requests; you are also deciding how to respond to the strange situations brought to your door.

Enjoy a gloomy, atmospheric setting

Undermere has a quiet, unsettling charm. The detailed shop interior, mysterious artefacts and supernatural subject matter create a world that feels both cosy and ominous.

And, naturally, you can pet the shop cat.

Final Thoughts

Strange Antiquities is a mystery and puzzle adventure that offers a satisfying mix of shopkeeping, investigation and supernatural storytelling. Its puzzles encourage you to take your time, look closely at the evidence and use what you have learned rather than rely on trial and error.

The shop setting gives the game a cosy routine, but its occult subject matter and gloomy atmosphere keep it from feeling entirely comforting. If you enjoy mysteries that unfold through small discoveries, it is a strong choice for a quiet gaming session.

A little housekeeping: this site is just for fun and games (literally). No payment, no sponsorships, no affiliate links (though you might spot a Steam link, purely because I’m helpful like that). Sometimes I am gifted a game, demo, or playtest spot, and I’ll always flag it when that’s the case. But gifted or not, I only write about games I genuinely enjoyed. If it’s not for me, it just quietly doesn’t get a post. No negativity here, only good vibes and cosy recommendations. One last thing: prices, features, and availability can shift after I post, so it’s always worth to double-check before you buy.
